I was born in Clearwater, FL and grew up in a small town, called Seminole. I’m a 2nd generation American and a descendant of Slovaks, Maltese & Spanish. I had a great childhood and was lucky enough to grow up in a close-knit neighborhood with wonderful friends. I’m still in touch with most of them. My parents were born and raised in NYC from immigrant parents. Somehow their NY roots took hold of me and never let go. I lived in NYC for 8 yrs, the first time around; and, I left only one year before 9/11. Now I split my time between Miami and Brooklyn. I went to FL State University and majored in Media Communication. I’ve worked for: WFSU-TV in Tallahassee, FL; WAGA-TV, formally the CBS affiliate, in Atlanta, GA; The Houston Chronicle in Houston, TX; Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising, & Claritas, both in NYC. Currently, I am retired. I’m coping with a genetic illness, Spinal Muscular Atrophy, type III. I have traveled to four of the seven continents, including Europe, Africa and South America. I live with my supportive spouse, Bill. We were married on our 10 yr anniversary.
