Vile Responses from the Opposition to Gay Marriage

On April 13, 2009 I posted an editorial response, via Youtube video, to NOM's anti-gay commercial on same-sex marriage. I put a lot of thought into the editorial and cited facts and history to justify my opinion as opposed to using fear, rhetoric and ignorance. I used passages from the U.S. Constitution, and supreme court rulings as well as examples from the world and U.S. civil rights movements. In other words, I was able to back up my argument with sound reasoning.

Through Youtube, I received mixed reactions to my video. Many were supportive, but many were just downright rude, vile, perverted and mean. Below is just one example of the many negative comments I received:

mattlewis66:  "Tell me now -- how will you test the bona fides of the love between to the two proposed sodomites-to-be-married? How much feces and semen they eat from each other a day? How much anal tissue is traumitized? Or maybe how many gerbils are suffocated?"

This is the mentality of the opposition which by the way, I did not publish in Youtube. I love a dissenting opinion when the opinion can be backed up by substance. But when the response is just utter bullshit I don't feel I should waste my time in directly responding to their ignorance. So I reserve the right not to publish offensive remarks. Obviously, nothing I can say will reach someone like this. My message is for those with an open mind, that might think twice about the issues I raise regarding gay civil rights. These are the people I want to target, with the hope of changing just one or two minds. By affecting just a few, my hope is that those few will then pay it forward and so on.
