Happy Friday! Here's a short and sweet anecdote about our former Governor of Florida, Jeb Bush. For those of you that aren't aware, my partner and I live in both Florida and New York (in case you've noticed me discussing my representatives in New York lately. So I'm really not completely confused). Two nights ago, Bill was preparing to fly down to Miami, from New York, when he called me from the American Airlines gate at La Guardia. He was very excited to let me know that Jeb Bush was about to board the same flight, yes the brother of former President, "W". Luckily, Bill had been upgraded to first class, as he sometimes is due to his high volume of frequent flying with American.
Apparently Jeb Bush was assigned to coach class. He had requested an upgrade, but was second on the list. While still out at the gate, some business men greeted Jeb with hugs, as if they had been friends for years, calling him by his first name, etc. But as his "friends" were preboarding to the first class cabin, Bill overheard them talking behind Jeb's back and poking fun that he would be flying in coach. Poor guy!
As the remainder of passengers boarded the plane, Jeb walked right passed Bill, comfortably tucked in his first class seat, and headed to the coach cabin. It seemed as if times were really tough for everyone. But then, just before take-off, Jeb was asked by a flight attendant if he wanted to move into first class. With that Jeb made his way up to the premiere cabin and sat just behind Bill. I guess privilege does have its perks.
